Artist: Vanda Luddy
A native of Galway, Vanda has been painting since 1997 producing limited edition fine art prints from some of her original works and also work via commission. Vanda’s ethos is to create “Something Special for Your Heart & Home”.
Her work has been bought by many private collectors both in Ireland and abroad, also by Galway Corporation, Galway University, GMIT, The Bon Secours Hospital and many of the multi-national companies in Galway.
Vanda’s work has been presented to numerous figures such as the President Michael D. Higgins, An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, Irish Olympic gold-medallist boxer Katie Taylor and the American ambassador to Ireland Kevin O’Malley.
Over the last decade contemporary art has been the trend, but traditional art is making a welcomed return to the market.
Vanda, dubbed the ‘Painter of Life’ in reference to her subject matter, captures everyday scenes creating a colourful reality everyone can relate to using traditional techniques.
Traditional art has always been the source of inspiration for many artists and designers. With its conventional look and feel, it appeals to a wide audience, it requires creativity and artistic skill.
As pitch and rhythm are to music, colour and tone are to the essence of painting. Vanda’s rhythmic brush strokes paint a melody on the canvas telling a real life story.
Rhythm is important in painting as well as music. Rhythmic pauses allow creative force to intervene and add new creations: form, melody and coloration.
